Traditional Guitar & Keyboard Accompaniment Masterclass
On Saturday 19th February, 2011, The Coleman Irish Music Centre in Gurteen, Co. Sligo will be hosting a Traditional Guitar and Keyboard accompaniment masterclass. The classes will be solely focussed on the accompaniment of Traditional Irish Music and would therefore suit the more advanced player. The guitar classes will be conducted by Sligo guitarist, Seamie O’Dowd and the keyboard by Maria Lynn McHugh from Foxford, Co. Mayo.
Maria Lynn McHugh originally from Westport but now living in Foxford, Co. Mayo is a well-known traditional accompanist having played in numerous céilí bands and has accompanied many of the traditional musicians on their recordings.
Seamie O’Dowd is a native of Maugheraboy, Sligo Town and a former member of the well-known Irish traditional music band Dervish.
Class timetable: 11.00 – 13.00 and 14.30 – 16.30.
Registration and coffee at 10.30am The cost for the days tuition will be €50 (includes a light lunch)
