The long awaited line up for Ceiliúradh an Earraigh was announced last week. With names like Sean Keane, Matt Molloy, John Carty and Carmel Gunning it is gauranteed to be entertaining.


The four day festival is set to take place from Thursday the 1st May to Sunday the 4th of May 2008 with concerts each night been held in Ceoláras Coleman, Gurteen, Co. Sligo.

Michael Coleman is one of the most influential Traditional Irish Musician of all time. He was born to humble beginnings in the small town land of Mountirwin in Killavil, Co. Sligo. If you want more information on history of Michael Coleman please visitor our history page. In this post we are going to talk about the wonderful compliation of his music released in 1991 by gael linn and compiled by Harry Bradshaw. This CD came complete with a comprehsive booklet describing the music and the man that was Michael Coleman.

The reigning Fiddler of Dooney, Tara Breen from Co.Clare was but one of a star studded group of Traditional Irish musicians who put on a truly outstanding concert in Ceoláras Coleman, Gurteen, on September 22nd last.

Accompanied by her father, Martin Breen, Tara thrilled the audience with her fine spirited playing, displaying all the skills of a master fiddle player with a lovely selection of tunes. Gracious hostess for the evening was Anne Marie McGowan, an excellent fiddle player, who recited lovely poetry - some about her beloved Monastraden where her family came from. Two young musicians with family roots in the wider Gurteen area, Sean and Gearoid Keane, gave a lovely entertaining performance with concertina and fiddle, and step dancing too.
